Being creative and thinking of new ideas and ways of doing things; then, making this a reality.
What are some of the challenges you’re currently facing at work?
The biggest challenge is facing increased growth of the business. This growth has placed enormous demands on the company and has meant expanding both infrastructure and people in a responsible manner. This presents many interesting challenges in system design and in personnel management.
How is this position different from other jobs you’ve had?
My other jobs were always around the technical aspects. This job is more around the future direction of the business and is more around developing and executing strategy.
MY EDUCATION
Degree(s) & Institution: Bachelor of Science in Chemistry & Biochemistry from UBC, Master of Business Administration from SFU, Oracle OCP, Registered Assayer, and a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation
Why did you choose to pursue a CMA?
I’ve always had an interest in finance and accounting. After completing my MBA, it was the next logical step to get a CMA designation as it meshed perfectly with my background in IT, finance, and strategy.
When did you complete your CMA program?
I completed the CMA Program in 2010.
LIFESTYLE
Upcoming vacation plans: I’m considering a trip to Europe – maybe one of the Scandinavian countries.

In five years, I see myself (both professionally and personally):
In five years, I see myself using the knowledge and skill that I have gained throughout my life in taking my company to new directions. I also see myself more involved in developing strategies and the associated execution plans for my company.
