What has changed: Many things have changed like there is too much traffic and pollution now and cost of living is very expensive.
What have you done for your hometown: I try to help out and donate as much as I can whenever I go to India.

Born and raised in a town which was once a part of Alexander the Great’s empire, Mr. Amarpreet Singh, 50, moved to Canada and established his own business, Green Recycling, in 2001. With a background in business in Jalandhar, it was easier to understand the process of starting a business far from home. Green recycling aims at reusing scrap metal and old cars. Mr. Amarpreet Singh feels strongly for the environment and has been a part of the Adopt-A-Street Volunteer Program in Surrey and has adopted a part of the 128th street. He is an avid fan of old cars, motorcycles, and old architecture. In his spare time he likes to spend time with his family. “I love living in Canada because I feel people here are more aware of their surroundings and care for the environment a lot,” says Mr. Singh.
