Mr. Narotam Verma, 67, made the brave decision of leaving all that was familiar behind in his hometown and moved to Canada in 2003. His decision was made in pursuit of being close to his two children already in Canada. Overseeing his import-export business, based in Amritsar from Canada proved to be a difficult task so he decided to make changes. Being confident about accounting, he attained a part time job in H&R Block. But disappointed by a desk job, Mr. Verma looked into receiving his Real Estate License. 2005 proved to be the year that Mr. Verma started working as a Real Estate Agent. He believes that his non-pushy demeanor, and not forcing his clients to make decisions has helped him in his trade. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family, playing badminton, and volunteering at the temple. “I love Canada because it’s peaceful and no one bothers you. I especially love working here as I have made some truly amazing friends through my profession,” says Mr. Verma.
