With a spirit to achieve big dreams, Mrs. Komalpreet Mangat was unfazed by the challenges of starting a life in a new country. Born and raised in a small town, she always dreamed of one day coming to Canada - a country she had seen on many TV serials. After getting married to a Canadian immigrant, she was excited to board an airplane for the first time. Her enthusiasm to learn made her adapt to the new surrounding fairly quickly and she started working at an Indian restaurant. Being a good cook, she decided to give it a chance by opening her own business. She started cooking for big gatherings and ceremonial parties. Through word of mouth her business picked up and she has never looked back. In her spare time - when she has a moment or two - she likes to go for drives and listen to music. “My husband’s support has helped me a lot in my professional life and that security means a lot to me,” says Mrs. Mangat.
