When is it time to replace the furnace?

It has been a part of your home for years.
And it has done its part in keeping your family warm through cold Canadian winter nights.
But sentimentality is the wrong reason to keep your old inefficient furnace posted on duty.
Modern day furnaces have an energy efficiency as high as 97%. That means nearly all of the energy input (typically natural gas) becomes heat for your home while the remaining 3% escapes up the chimney or elsewhere.
Older furnaces have an energy efficiency rating as low as 50% - meaning for all the natural gas you are purchasing, only half is being converted to heat.
The math is telling.
Following this comparison to its reasonable end, now imagine a winter heating bill that costs half as much.
Add to that the savings available from government grants and promotions and the decision to make a transition from old to new becomes seamless.
Centra Windows is currently offering a pay no HST sale for customers switching their furnaces. Purchasers also can save an additional $1300 off via government grants and Fortis BC rebates.
The Fortis BC offer is only available until October 31st and the government grants program is set to expire soon.
To learn if you qualify for these grants and for other homeowner improvement allotments, you can attend an upcoming ‘Consumer Seminar’ hosted by Centra Windows
These seminars will help you prioritize your home improvement dollars and provide the most up-to-date information on government grants.
These seminars are free and available at all six Centra Windows Showroom locations (Kamloops, Kelowna, Vancouver, Langley, Nanaimo and Victoria).
The company’s experts along with Certified Energy Evaluators will offer short presentations and be available to answer all your home energy improvement questions.
The next upcoming date in the Lower Mainland is November 3rd, at 11AM.
To speak with a Centra representative on your furnace or home heating system, call 604-882-5010  or go to www.centra.ca.
