Vancouver based group, Essonance Chamber Choir, will be playing in concert ‘Lux’ on December 15th, 7:30PM at St. Faith’s Anglican Church.
The concert will feature an assortment of familiar holiday tunes as well as a series of ‘Light’-inspired pieces that are contemporary yet contemplative.
One of the highlights for the evening is the performance of Canadian composer R. Murray Schafer’s ‘Epitaph for Moonlight’ that uses graphic notation to visually capture the soundscape of a the moonlight.
On the other hand, ‘A Little Jazz Mass’ composed by British composer, Bob Chilcott, is a fun and light piece.
Joining in for the Jazz Mass are three guest performers: Ruben Federizon (piano), Beaner Mitchell (double bass), and Julia Chien (percussion).
