Sprott Shaw College
BC’s healthcare industry is rapidly growing to serve the needs of our ageing population.
The jobs in the sector are demanding but also rewarding, both from a compensation and career fulfillment point of view.
If you have the drive, you can create fulfilling career in this field.
For two decades, Li D held down two jobs at a time and worked hard to raise her two kids. But it was only in her late 30’s when she was able to return to school to improve her career and earning prospects.
“I always knew I wanted a career, but with an unplanned pregnancy my plans for college had to wait until the time was right,” she explained.
“So, I committed to being a mom and I promised myself that once my child was an adult that I would reach my goal, go to college and have the career that I always wanted.”
Li chose Sprott Shaw College and specifically the Practical Nursing program. But it wasn’t an easy journey for Li – she started upgrading her high school science courses 6 years ago.
“Through the Practical Nurse program, I have discovered so many new friends, support systems and most of all a sense of pride in myself for keeping the promise I made over two decades ago,” Li states.
“I have reached my goal, am working as a nurse and I am loving it.”
With thirteen campuses across BC and the Lower Mainland, and with numerous career courses, Sprott Shaw offers much flexibility for students, whether just out of high school or mature and with families.
Whether you are looking for Surrey nursing courses or an Abbotsford accounting program, Sprott Shaw has options for you.
