Special to The Post
Opening in 2009 in Surrey's Payal Centre, Well Groomed has become a household name for South Asian wedding fashion and haute couture.
Dave Singh is leading the way for a new generation of Indian fashion in the Lower Mainland.
Though Well Groomed started as a family business and has blossomed into a name that is recognised beyond the South Asian market.
Singh's start into fashion began first with an Honours Degree in Economics and then a diploma in Fashion.
Before Dave Singh immigrated to Canada in 2008, he had a single-minded purpose of creating a store designed to cater to the Indian wedding market.
Singh launched Well Groomed Design Studio in 2009 from where he designed bold Indian outfits for ages across the board.
Singh’s designs generally attracted younger South Asians who were looking for unique outfits that made a statement.
Knowing this, Singh has created attire for men and women only choosing the best designs and fabrics and creating statements pieces which keeps his clientele coming back for more.
The intricacies in his designs and the influence of traditional Indian wear balanced with contemporary overtones intertwined together to create a look with elegance, grace and class.
You can see that Singh pays great attention to detail in every piece he creates.
You can see the latest pieces from Well Groomed at Vancouver Fashion Week’s Fall/Winter 2013 show.
Tickets are now available through www.vanfashionweek.com.
