Mata Amritanandamayi is known throughout the world as Amma, or Mother, for her selfless love and compassion toward all beings.
Known as the Hugging Mother, she has embraced and comforted more than 32 million people.
In Seattle, Amma will offer three free public programs.
The will commence on Friday May 24 at 10:00AM and 7:30PM, with Devi Bhava continuing throughout the night on Monday May 27, 2013.
Programs include; spiritual talks, devotional singing and the opportunity to receive Amma’s darshan —a spiritual blessing in the form of a physical motherly embrace.
Please arrive 90 minutes prior to the start of all programs. Everyone wishing to meet Amma must have a token. Tokens are free and given on a first come first serve basis.
A retreat with Amma will be offered on May 25-27, pre-registration and payment is required.
Amma is widely regarded as one of India’s foremost spiritual leaders and one of the world's most accessible humanitarian leaders.
Devotees come from numerous faiths – she has never asked anyone to change their religion but only to contemplate the essential principles of their own faith and to try to live accordingly.
