Good spots are closer than you think.
The Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC stocked Rice Lake with 5,000 catchable sized rainbow trout this spring as part of it’s Fishing in the City program.
Rice Lake is located in Metro Vancouver’s Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve in North Vancouver.
Follow the signs from the parking lot and walk the short forested trail to the lake. Try casting your line from the fishing pier or from shore.
You may keep up to two trout per day, but all anglers 16 years or older must have a valid freshwater fishing licence.

Bring the kids to Rice Lake for a free fishing lesson this summer.
Learn to Fish programs run every Sunday from 10AM to 12PM.
In one hands on session, kids 5 to 15 will learn where, when and how to catch fish.
All equipment and tackle is provided. Parent supervision is required.
