Restaurant Review: Delicious Cuisine

As part of being on the Blogger's Judging Panel for the Chinese Restaurant Awards, we started with Delicious Cuisine. I met up with fellow judges Joyce, Chlore and Jesse. The Spicy Pork Offal Stew featuring stomach, intestines and blood may be repulsive to some, but it was totally delicious to us! It was extremely gamey. Next we had the Pan Fried Egg with Tiger Prawns. This omelet had a crispy exterior and fluffy interior. The egg was lightly seasoned.
We also ordered the Tiger Prawn & Pineapple with Mayo. The prawns had a light crispiness giving way We then had the Stir-Fried Pea Shoots with Garlic. The pea shoots were a touch soft, yet with had a mild crunch.
One of the dishes we judged was the classic 3-Cup Chicken. The chicken was succulent - one of the best I've had. However, flavor-wise, it was far too sweet with very little wine. The dish‘s profile was one-note. It wasn't too greasy. Next, we were had the Bamboo Shoot & Free-Range Chicken Steamed Soup. After one sip, we tasted a lot of salt and MSG. The bamboo shoots were crunchy without being pungent. The chicken was juicy and moist.
We had the aromatic Tea-Smoked Duck. But it was too smoky and the tea really didn't come through. However the smoke penetrated all the meat. The meat was moist, but the skin and fat could've been more rendered. Lastly, we had the Stir-Fried Shredded Pork served with crepes. It had tender julienned pork with just enough sauce. It was sweet and a bit spicy. The food was pretty solid. I wouldn't mind returning to try some different items.
