Local car dealership donates to high school’s Dry Grad

Barnes Wheaton GM North Surrey donated $5,040 to the North Surrey Secondary School Dry Grad Fund from its “Buick Drive For Your Students” fundraiser. The fundraiser donated $20 for every test drive that was taken from friends, family and co-workers.
Most high schools raise funds for Dry Grads to provide students a safe environment that has no drugs and alcohol to celebrate their graduation. Usually this supervised event happens after the prom. They are taken to the Dry Grad venue where they can have fun dancing to music, eating food and taking pictures or win prizes. In 1980s, the Dry Grad came into being in order to address the issues of drinking and driving at graduation parties.
