People can listen to music, check out the artisan market and try cultural food at the Latin Summer Fest on August 16. The celebration takes place at Trout Lake located at Victoria and 15th.
Host DJs Castillo, Kru and Tigueron will be on hand. Bands include Alma Chevere, Rio Samaya, Robin Layne s Marimba, Feature Band - Mngwa Cumbia Mistico Fantasma from Mexico, Capoeira and Drum Circle tents and Kutapira. Dance floors will provided be by Byron Starr.
The Original Latin Outdoor City Celebration partners with community and business participants as is done in Ontario and the U.S., to provide the city with activities to attract tourism and joint celebrations.
In the morning, people can visit the market and food pavilions surrounding an outdoor stage where artists from Flamenco to Cuban Rueda perform on stage. There is also a kids’ activity area.
Volunteers help coordination, first aid, clean up, and provide information and assistance to public and exhibitors from 11am to 7pm.
