SUCCESS opens office in China

S.U.C.C.E.S.S. will be opening the Active Engagement and Integration Project (AEIP) Service Centre in Beijing, China, to provide pre-arrival services to help newcomers transition to Canadian life. A second service centre will be established in Shanghai later this year.
“China is one of the top 5 immigrant source countries for Canada,” said Doug Purdie, Chair of S.U.C.C.E.S.S.
S.U.C.C.E.S.S. is the first non-profit immigrant serving agency that the Chinese government has allowed to establish pre-arrival service centre in Beijing. Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) funds the program. AEIP provides pre-arrival services, such as Canadian history, culture, health care, transportation, employment, foreign credential recognition and education system, to help newcomers with a smooth transition before moving to Canada. Newcomers will get the support and resources to settle down in their communities.
Since 2008, AEIP has been offering pre-landing services at its overseas offices in South Korea and Taiwan. In the past 8 years, this program has successfully assisted over 6,500 clients in both Seoul and Taipei. Effective from April 1, 2015, S.U.C.C.E.S.S. has also been approved by CIC for the pre-arrival services in China.
“Beijing is our first pre-arrival service centre in China to provide direct, face-to-face services to assist newcomers from China with necessary information prior to landing in Canada.,” said Queenie Choo, CEO of S.U.C.C.E.S.S.
