The Luxury & Super Car Weekend took place 9.12 and 9.13 at Van Dusen Botanical Garden. The garden’s gently sloping grassy hills were covered with a variety of luxury cars from the 1920s up to 2015. My favorite was the Aston Martin (with machine guns and rockets) used in the James Bond “Die Another Day” movie.
Fashion was the other main attraction. The “runway” show was hosted by and featured stores from Oakridge Centre Mall. The “sidewalk” portion was fashion worn by the event’s guests. Melissa was my favorite. Her husband and daughter were also nicely dressed. Her favorite luxury vehicle was the Rolls Royce Wraith. Also, she hoped to hear more about the launch of Tesla’s SUV.
Melissa built her outfit around her summery white blazer. Her shiny burgundy pants were a nod to fall. From there she added a necklace, matching purse and a pair of “must have” black pumps. She said her outfit made her feel “confident, classic and stylish with a dash of sexy.” I liked how her silver necklace and black pumps matched the detail in her purse. To my surprise her shiny pants are NOT leather or pleather, they were died denim! She said denim is more flattering and tends to hold its shape better that leather. Her jeans are brand new so we’re both wondering how shiny they will be after several washing machine cycles.
Lastly, Melissa is a Marketing Director and mom to a grade school aged daughter.
