Terrace BC woman crowned Miss Chinese International 2016

Miss Chinese Vancouver 2015 Jennifer Coosemans returned as Miss Chinese International 2016. She is the seventh Vancouver delegate to win the crown at the Miss Chinese International Pageant.
She shared her experiences and stories from the Pageant, saying the past four months of her pageant journey as surreal. She never imagined a student from the interior of BC could end up participating in the Vancouver Pageant and entering the international spotlight.
As a token of appreciation, she brought the Pageant program book from Hong Kong. Coosemans was most satisfied with her cheerleading dance in the talent competition even though in the Miss Vancouver Pageant, she performed on the trombone. With no prior training in cheerleading dance, she showcased her athleticism. Her favorite image at the pageant was the “traditional” costume. While the other contestants appeared in glamorous gowns, Jennifer wore a Vancouver Canucks ice hockey jersey, showing off her sporty and active character. The media dubbed her as a Michelle Reis lookalike. Coosemans was honored to be compared with Reis.
As for her future plans, she will discuss her next steps with her family. She is improving her Cantonese and fulfilling responsibilities as Miss Chinese Vancouver by participating in charity events and giving back to the community. Coosemans will also appear in upcoming episodes of What’s On and Leisure Talk.
