Eighteen-year-old Ariel Cao who was crowned Miss Teenage British Columbia will be going to compete for the title of Miss Teenage Canada 2016 in July. The grade 12 student from Burnaby North Secondary received the highest score amongst 21 BC contestants after several rounds of competition.
She believes it is important to take a break from technology and get exercise. As Miss Teenage BC 2016, she plans to join local marathons, volunteer for charities focused on health, and motivate others to stay fit through having a healthy lifestyle.
She will be fundraising for Free the Children, the official charity of the pageant.
“I am definitely not your average beauty queen. When I attend events in my crown, a lot of people are genuinely surprised when I tell them my favourite subjects are mathematics and computer science. I am proud to be a book-nerd, an athlete, a musician, an artist, and a pageant-girl at the same time!”
In July, an online voting portal will open on www.missteenagecanada.com for the people’s choice award. Like her on Facebook (www.facebook.com/ArielJCao) and follow on Instagram (@arieljcao) & Twitter (@MissTeenageBC16) for updates.
