Restaurant Review: Prataman

If you’re looking for an established home style cuisine restaurant–go to Prataman in Richmond. They serve Singaporean and Malaysian food including Mee Goreng, Hainanese chicken, roti, curry beef brisket and barbecue skewers for a modest price.

Prataman is well loved in the community. It is always busy. But, it’s probably not the best place to bring your first date to impress them.

We started off with the Mee Goreng – at its basic: sweet ketchup, tofu and noodles. It had a nice flavour, not too sweet and an ample portion.

The next dish is the Hainanese chicken – served bone in here, but extremely tender. The rice is chicken flavoured and served with some soup to clean your palate. This dish is perfect for one person.

We ordered Roti to go with our curry beef brisket. It’s made in house and good for what it is.

The curry beef brisket is a good portion. The brisket is tender and retains the delicious fat. This is great with rice.

Our skewers are of beef and pork and they’re good – nothing to write home about but pretty standard for this type of cuisine.
